At present I am member of the Laboratory of Clinical Neuroimmunology in Institut de Recerca del Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron (Barcelona, Spain). For the last years I have worked at the Laboratory of Experimental Cardiology, directed by Dr. D. Garcia-Dorado and mainly focussed on the study of the mechanisms responsible for cell death during and after heart attack. Its final objective is to find a drug that administered during coronary occlusion were able to decrease infarct size in patients suffering from myocardial infarction. In this lab I have leaded a project on the potential therapeutic interest of two intracellular messengers (nitric oxide and cyclic GMP) on myocardial infarction. I am Doctor in Biochemistry with a wide experience in biomedical and in biochemical pharmacology research (more than 30 publications in this field), and with a prolonged teaching experience at the university as Teaching Assistant (Biochemistry, Medical Faculty).
