I am a research scientist of the Laboratory of Experimental Cardiology in Institut de Recerca del Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron (Barcelona, Spain), and lead a project on the potential therapeutic interest of two intracellular messengers (nitric oxide and cyclic GMP) on myocardial infarction. The laboratory is directed by Dr. D. Garcia-Dorado and is mainly focussed on the study of the mechanisms responsible for cell death during and after heart attack. Its final objective is to find a drug that administered during coronary occlusion were able to decrease infarct size in patients suffering from myocardial infarction.

I am Doctor in Biochemistry with a wide experience in biomedical and in biochemical pharmacology research (more than 30 publications in this field), and with a prolonged teaching experience at the university as Teaching Assistant (Biochemistry, Medical Faculty). During the last three years, I have been collaborating as a Fast Track Reviewer with the main European journal in the cardiovascular field: Cardiovascular Research (more than 8 completed reviewer assignments in 2003).

A part from my research task I am an enthusiastic of internet. I collaborate as editor in Blauplanet.com, company devoted to the edition of Web pages, specially of pages of scientific content.

My children, horseback riding, biking, photography (macro) and video-editing are my main hobbies.
